Felt Banana DIY Craft
Love this, perfect Felt Banana DIY Craft for your Cheeky Monkeys!
This is SUCH a lovely craft – in fact, why not make a whole fruit bowl full of felt fruit (full of felt fruit? try saying that after a late night)
This love of bananas has evolved in our house, due to Grandma making the children a notebook for fruit stickers, yes, we kid you not, it really does encourage the children to eat more fruit – as they love to see all of the stickers in their little books! Eating five portions is not as hard as it sounds. Just one apple, banana, pear or similar-sized fruit is one portion. A slice of pineapple or melon is one portion. Three heaped tablespoons of vegetables is another portion.
Having a sliced banana with your morning cereal is a quick way to get one portion. Swap your mid-morning biscuit for a tangerine, and add a side salad to your lunch. Have a portion of vegetables with dinner, and snack on dried fruit in the evening to reach your five a day. read more here on the NHS website
Anyway, back to the Felt Banana DIY Craft in hand… who wouldn’t want a few of these beauties in a bowl – they seem pretty easy to make, and could be hand-stitched if you didn’t have a sewing machine, so we’re going to give it a go – we love the splash of yellow at this time of year too, and these little beauties would never go brown either, (saying that, there are some mighty fine banana pancake recipes about!)
We love whilewearingheels’s idea of sticking on a little Fairtrade banana sticker from a REAL banana once you’ve made them, you could have some fun with these, in the real fruit basket, what a wheez! A Fun April Fool for the school packed lunch too!
Pop over to whilewearingheels for the full instructions, and enjoy making your felt banana!
