Tapestry sieve
I have honestly never seen this craft before, I know, I know, I’m sure that if you type ‘tapestry sieve’ into Pinterest, LOADS will appear, so call me naive, but there you go – I LOVE this!
My Auntie always used to be a tapestry fan. Every other Christmas, she would present my mother with a new cushion (it used to take her two years to make them!) and I’d wonder at the quality, technique and time and effort that she’d put into making such a beautiful work of art.
We’ve dabbled with little tapestry sets that the kids have had as gifts over the years, but for some reason we have never found them inspiring, so when we spotted this tapestry SIEVE we couldn’t wait to give it a go….
And, as ever, it totally sits with our ethos of looking for old gems to recycle and divert from landfill, so the idea of a thrift store find like this, battered old sieve, and turning into a thing of beauty just fills us full of delight!
Why throw away when you can upcycle into something as darling as this… and what a fun gift idea, if you check out Jansschwester.blogspot.co.uk, you’ll see how great it looks displayed on the wall, along with their beautiful plate collection – go see and enjoy!
