CAPTURE THE FLAG

Capture the Flag is a classic game that has been enjoyed by generations. Divide your group into two teams and set up each team’s flag on opposite sides of the campground. The objective is to capture the other team’s flag and bring it back to your side without being tagged by an opponent. If you get tagged, you’re out. The team that captures the flag first wins.

SCAVENGER HUNT

Scavenger hunts are a great way to explore the campground and get everyone involved. Create a list of items that can be found in the campground, such as a pinecone, a feather, or a specific type of leaf. Divide your group into teams and give each team a list. The first team to find all the items on the list wins.

KICK THE CAN

Kick the Can is a game that’s perfect for a group of any size. All you need is an empty can and a large area to play. Set up the can in the middle of the playing area and divide your group into two teams. The objective is for one team to kick the can while the other team tries to tag them. If you get tagged, you’re out. The team that kicks the can wins.

CHARADES

Charades is a classic game that’s perfect for camping because it requires no equipment and can be played at any time of day or night. Divide your group into two teams and have one team member act out a word or phrase without speaking while their team tries to guess what it is. The team that guesses the most words or phrases correctly wins.

SARDINES

Sardines is a game that’s perfect for playing whilst camping. One player is “it” and hides somewhere in the campground while the other players count to a certain number. Then, the players try to find “it.” When a player finds “it,” they hide with them until there’s only one player left. The last player to find “it” becomes the next “it.”

FREEZE TAG

Freeze Tag is a twist on the classic game of tag that’s perfect for camping. One player is “it,” and when they tag someone, that player must freeze in place. The only way for that player to become unfrozen is if another player tags them. The last player standing becomes the next “it.”

GHOST IN THE GRAVEYARD

Ghost in the Graveyard is a game that’s perfect for playing whilst camping. One player is “it” and hides while the other players count to a certain number. When the players are done counting, they try to find “it.” When a player finds “it,” they yell “Ghost in the Graveyard!” and everyone runs back to the starting point. The last player to arrive becomes the next “it.”

RED LIGHT, GREEN LIGHT

Red Light, Green Light is a game that’s perfect for a large group of players – so involve other pitches around you. One player is “it” and stands at the end of the playing area with their back to the other players. When they yell “Green light,” the other players try to run past them. When they yell “Red light,” the other players must freeze in place. If “it” catches someone moving, that player is out. The first One of the most fun aspects of camping is the opportunity to unplug and spend quality time with friends and family. By incorporating some of these free, physical games into your camping trip, you’ll create lasting memories and have a blast in the great outdoors.
