Toilet roll bird feeder

toilet roll bird feederEvery garden needs a toilet roll bird feeder!

If you have a spot in your garden or yard, do consider feeding the wild birds in your neighbourhood.

It’s a great way to encourage birds into your garden, and a homemade toilet roll bird feeder will do just that. Hang the upcycled toilet roll bird feeder close to your window so that you and the children can see the birds in detail. Get Bird Spotting! This is also a really lovely gift for an older relative, as it can be quite therapeutic to quietly watch the birds feeding from a toilet roll bird feeder!

Food shortages can occur for birds at any time of the year, although winter feeding benefits birds most. By feeding the wild birds all year round, you’ll give them a better chance to survive the periods of food shortage.

Temporary food shortage can occur at almost any time of the year, and if this happens during the breeding season, extra food provided by a toilet roll bird feeder  can make a big difference to the survival of young.

It is now known that if the weather turns cold or wet during spring or summer, severe shortage of insect food can occur, and if the weather is exceptionally dry, earthworms will be unavailable to the ground feeders because of the hard soil. So this is where your toilet roll bird feeder will come into its own!
