DIY Canvas and Leather Lunch Bag
We are rather partial to sewing in our place, we have two sewing machines, and my love of sewing came from my own mother who painstakingly adapted patterns, and made me circle skirts, jumpsuits and helped me modify my denim jeans (hiding her annoyance at the many broken needle!)
As I grew up, I started making curtains for my student home, and funky cushion covers – and now my own kids are bigger, we’ve made plush toys together and little denim jackets for their toy dogs – it’s clearly something in the genes (no pun intended)!
It also means that I am drawn to any well finished sewing project, so rather fell in love with this DIY Canvas and Leather Lunch Bag from www.prettyprudent.com it’s just such a GOOD looking project, canvas being one of my favourite materials to work with now (doesn’t break QUITE so many sewing machine needles… we really loved this DIY Canvas Lunch Bag, as the pattern PrettyPrudent uses is very versatile, and you could use all types of cast off fabrics – don’t throw it away, think party bags! How cool would it be for each of the kids at a party to go home with their own home made party bag?! You could use fabric to match the theme of the party – whether pirate, fairy or whatever – and re-usable too, so better than those ugly plastic bags!
Now begs the question, what would you put IN your lunch bag?! There are all sorts of ideas out there, but you will definitely be the coolest in the canteen with this one – so pop over to www.prettyprudent.com to have a good look at her how-to – where she shares more photos and ideas – and come back and visit us again soon here at FunCraftsKids.com!
