Egg Carton Craft Rooster

Egg Carton Craft Rooster

Cock-a-doodle-do! It’s the year of the rooster… and we just love this Egg Carton Craft Rooster. According to the Chinese Lunar Calendar, the Year of the Rooster starts on January 28, 2017.

It is an important spring festival and a great opportunity to celebrate Chinese culture and language. Chinese New Year is a good time to Learn about the story of the Rooster, the Dragon and the Centipede – have a go at getting creative making rooster paper cuts and painting traditional Zodiac plate designs or even have a go at making an Egg Carton Craft Rooster like this work of art Rosijofarecon.

Celebrations for the Year of the Rooster will begin on January 27, New Year’s Eve, and typically last around two weeks, making this the longest holiday in the Chinese calendar.

This year the festivities are set to end on February 2 2017.

Any craft we come across that features re-purposed waste materials really does rock our boat, so saving lots of egg cartons, to plan for this craft! Roosters are the tenth sign in the zodiac and are seen as confident, honest, humourous and hardworking so that’s how you can feel getting crafty with some egg cartons!

What we really rather love about this adorable Egg Carton Craft Rooster is that you can make it now, and save it for Easter, for a really exciting Easter Egg hunt later in the year! Result… And the cardboard from the moulded pulp egg cartons makes for a great ‘free’ or ‘cheap’ (no pun intended!) craft material, so start saving them now, even if you don’t have time before the end of Chinese New Year to make this Egg Box Craft Rooster – as we said, it’s a great idea for Easter too!

For more wonderful photographs and details on the make pop over to Rosijofarecon.
