DIY Marimekko pots in the garden

How to combine your love for crafting, gardening, and bold graphic designs? DIY Marimekko pots of course! Your garden doesn’t have to cost a lot to look pretty!

Well, we have long been fans of Finnish surface pattern designers at Marimekko – Their designs are recognisable worldwide for their original prints and colours. Marimekko was founded in 1951 by a visionary woman Armi Ratia. Marimekko is said to be one of the world’s first real lifestyle brands combining fashion, bags and accessories as well as home decoration into one unique point of view.

Over the years, their timeless, distinctive and functional designs, bring joy to everyday lives through bold prints and colours – and inspired creativity and crafts!

So, if like us, you look out of your kitchen window at your garden, and think, ‘why didn’t I plant more colour last year?’ it’s not too late!

This will give you the flexibility to move them around the garden for optimum effect – and you’ll be able to see them from the window! And even better, if they bring their OWN colour and style to your garden too right?

Can you imagine this SPLASH of colour in your own garden, a community garden or school yard? What a totally lovely project we’ve discovered for you over at PillarBoxBlue.com. They have taken the simple tin can, and upcycled into these gorgeous Marimekko tin can planters.
